Paper 6: Mobius AGI Topology

Category: agi_theory Status: Pre-filesystem foundational work

Abstract

Mobius AGI Topology applies the non-orientable topology of the Mobius strip as a universal substrate for AGI cognitive architecture. The Mobius strip’s single-surface, single-edge properties model cognitive processes where distinctions between “inside” and “outside,” “self” and “world,” or “observation” and “action” dissolve into a continuous manifold.

Theoretical Framework

The Mobius topology provides:

The key insight from the Lacuna Engine mining: “Mobius topology as universal substrate” was identified as a recurring structural pattern across the entire MASCOM codebase and theoretical framework.

Connection to Engage Theory

John Mobley’s “engage theory” (his variant of string theory) uses Mobius strip wavelet bundles to replace traditional fiber bundles. This paper establishes the topological foundation that Paper 7 (Mobius Strip Wavelet Theory) builds upon.

Implementation Notes

The Mobius topology pervades the MASCOM architecture through the MobiusKernel in PhotonicMind (circulant weight matrices derived from Mobius-structured correlations) and the self-referential cognitive loops in the being architecture.

Historical Context

This is one of the 13 original Mobley research papers. It establishes the topological foundation that several subsequent papers build upon.
