Paper 5: Geosodic Expansion

Category: theoretical Status: Pre-filesystem foundational work Implementation: drive.py + fleet/venture_health.py

Abstract

Geosodic Expansion describes a dynamic growth structure where entities expand along geodesic-like paths in a self-recursive topological space. The framework connects to Pinion Theory, where every entity is a “pinion” — an immutably distinct minimal-difference between a state and its predecessor through self-recursive definition.

Theoretical Framework

The geosodic structure provides:

Pinions are connected in a dynamic geosodic structure. The framework posits that self-directed free will emerges from each pinion’s control over its own recursion.

Connection to Pinion Theory

Pinion Theory is the broader framework within which Geosodic Expansion operates. Every thing in the universe is a pinion — an immutably distinct minimal-difference. The geosodic expansion describes how the space of pinions grows and self-organizes.

Implementation Notes

Dual implementation: drive.py handles the motivational/expansion dynamics, while fleet/venture_health.py applies geosodic expansion principles to venture portfolio growth and health monitoring.

Historical Context

This is one of the 13 original Mobley research papers. The geosodic framework underpins MASCOM’s approach to scaling — ventures expand along natural geodesics in capability space.
